Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father told me, al-Jurayri narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came upon a stream of rainwater while the people were fasting on a hot day, walking, while the Prophet of Allah was riding a mule. He said: "Drink, O people!" He said: But they refused. He said: "I am not like you; I am the most at ease among you, for I am riding," but they still refused. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, turned his leg and dismounted and drank, and the people drank, though he had not wanted to drink for himself alone.
