حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ أَخِي وَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ إِنَّ أَخِي تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ عِيَالًا وَلِي عِيَالٌ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا مَالٌ وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ بِعِيَالِي وَعِيَالِ أَخِي حَتَّى نَنْزِلَ بَعْضَ هَذِهِ الْأَمْصَارِ فَيَكُونَ أَرْفَقَ عَلَيْنَا فِي مَعِيشَتِنَا قَالَ وَيْحَكَ لَا تَخْرُجْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri told us: Abu al-Nu'man 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Nu'man al-Ansari told us, from Abu Sa'id, the freedman of al-Mahri, who said: My brother died, and I came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and said: "O Abu Sa'id, my brother has died and left dependents, and I have dependents too, and we have no wealth. I wanted to go out with my dependents and my brother's dependents until we settle in one of these garrison towns, so it would be easier on us in our livelihood." He said: "Woe to you, do not leave! For I heard him" — meaning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — "say: 'Whoever bears patiently its hardship and difficulty, I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection.'"
