Abdullah ibn al-Harith told us, al-Awza'i told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Ata' ibn Yazid al-Laythi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that a Bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the Hijrah. He said: "Woe to you! The Hijrah is a difficult matter. Do you have any camels?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Do you not pay their zakat?" He said: "Of course." He said: "Do you not lend them out?" He said: "Of course." He said: "Do you not milk them on the day they come to water?" He said: "Of course." He said: "Then act from beyond the seas as you wish, for Allah will never withhold anything of your deeds."
