حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الْمَشْرِقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ قَالَ فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالُوا مَنْ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَهِيَ ثُلُثُ الْقُرْآنِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abdullah ibn Muhammad told us - Abu Abd al-Rahman said: I also heard it from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah - Abu Khalid al-Ahmar told us, from al-A'mash, from al-Dahhak al-Mashriqi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: that he said: "Is one of you unable to recite a third of the Qur'an in one night?" He said: That seemed hard upon his Companions, so they said: "Who can manage that?" He said: "Whoever recites 'Say: He is Allah, the One' - it is a third of the Qur'an."
