The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, Allah the Almighty said: Whoever is hostile to a friend of Mine, I declare war against him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory. My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing, his sight, his hand, and his foot. If he asks Me, I give him. If he seeks refuge, I grant him refuge. I do not hesitate in anything as I hesitate in taking the soul of My believing servant — he hates death and I hate to hurt him.'
