742/960(صحيح)عن جابر قال: صرع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من فرس بالمدينة على جذع نخلة، فانفكت قدمه، فكنا نعوده في مشربة لعائشة رضي الله عنها، فأتيناه، وهو يصلي قاعداً، فصليناً قياماً، ثم أتيناه مرة أخرى وهو يصلي المكتوبة قاعداً، فصلينا خلفه قياماً، فأومأ إلينا أنِ اقعدوا، فلما قضى الصلاة، قال:"إذا صلى الإمام قاعداً فصلوا قعوداً، وإذا صلى قائماً فصلوا قياماً، ولا تقوموا والإمام قاعد، كما تفعل فارس بعظمائهم".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Jabir said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was thrown from a horse in Madinah against a palm trunk, and his foot was sprained. We used to visit him in an upper room belonging to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). We came to him while he was praying seated, and we prayed standing. Then we came another time while he was praying the obligatory prayer seated, and we prayed behind him standing. He gestured to us to sit down, and when he finished, he said: 'When the imam prays seated, pray seated. When he prays standing, pray standing. Do not stand while the imam is seated, as the Persians do with their leaders.'
