664/859 عن الأسود بن سريع،[ قال: كنت شاعراً، فأتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فـ/861]قلت: يا رسول الله! إني مدحت ربي عز وجل بمحامد. قال:"أما إن ربك يحب الحمد"، ولم يزده على ذلك.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Al-Aswad ibn Sari' said: [I was a poet, and I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and] I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I have praised my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, with praises.' He said: 'Indeed, your Lord loves praise,' and he did not add anything beyond that.
