637/826-(صحيح)عن مطيع قال: سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول يوم فتح مكة:"لا يقتل قرشي صبراً بعد اليوم إلى يوم القيامة". فلم يدرك الإسلام أحد من عصاة قريش غير مطيع؛ كان اسمه العاص، فسماه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: مطيعاً.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muti' reported: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say on the day of the Conquest of Makkah: 'No Qurayshi shall be killed in captivity after today until the Day of Resurrection.' No one from the rebellious Quraysh entered Islam except Muti'. His name was al-'Asi (the disobedient), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) named him Muti' (the obedient).
