Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: We came along with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) having commenced talbiyah for Hajj alone (Ifrad), while Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) had commenced talbiyah for Umrah. When she reached Sarif, she began menstruating. When we arrived in Makkah, we circumambulated the Sacred Ka'bah and ran between al-Safa and al-Marwah. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then commanded us that whoever did not have a sacrificial animal should exit ihram. We asked: To what extent shall we be free? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Completely free. So we had relations with our wives, applied perfume and wore our regular clothes, though only four nights remained between us and the standing at Arafah. Then we commenced talbiyah for Hajj on the Day of Tarwiyah (the eighth of Dhul Hijjah). The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then came to Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) and found her weeping. He said: What is the matter with you? She said: I have begun menstruating; the people have exited their ihram but I have not, nor could I circumambulate the Sacred House, and now the people are proceeding for Hajj. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: This (menstruation) is something that Allah the Exalted has decreed for the daughters of Adam (upon him be peace). Take a bath and then commence talbiyah for Hajj. She did so and stood at all the stations (of Hajj). When she became purified, she circumambulated the Sacred House and ran between al-Safa and al-Marwah. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then said: Now you have exited ihram from both your Hajj and your Umrah. She said: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), I still feel in my heart that I did not circumambulate the Sacred House at the time of my Hajj (i.e. the Tawaf al-Qudum). He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: O Hadrat Abd al-Rahman, take her and have her perform Umrah from al-Tan'im. This happened on the night of al-Hasbah.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ہمراہ حج افراد کا احرام باندھ کر آئے، اور حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا عمرے کا احرام باندھ کر آئیں، جب وہ مقام سرف پہنچیں تو انہیں حیض آ گیا۔ یہاں تک کہ جب ہم مکہ مکرمہ پہنچے تو ہم نے کعبۃ اللہ کا طواف اور صفا و مروہ کی سعی کی، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں حکم فرمایا کہ جس کے پاس ہدی نہ ہو وہ احرام کھول دے، ہم نے عرض کیا: کس حد تک حلال ہو جائیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: پوری طرح حلال ہو جاؤ۔ چنانچہ ہم نے اپنی بیویوں سے صحبت کی، خوشبو لگائی اور اپنے کپڑے پہنے، حالانکہ ہمارے اور عرفہ کے درمیان صرف چار راتیں باقی تھیں۔ پھر ہم نے یوم الترویہ (آٹھویں ذی الحجہ) کو حج کا احرام باندھا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے پاس تشریف لائے تو انہیں روتے ہوئے پایا، ارشاد فرمایا: تمہیں کیا ہوا؟ عرض کیا: مجھے حیض آ گیا ہے، لوگوں نے احرام کھول دیا اور میں نے نہیں کھولا، نہ بیت اللہ کا طواف کر سکی ہوں اور لوگ ابھی حج کو جا رہے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: یہ (حیض) ایسی چیز ہے جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے آدم (علیہ السلام) کی بیٹیوں کے لیے مقدر فرمائی ہے، غسل کرو پھر حج کا احرام باندھ لو۔ چنانچہ انہوں نے ایسا ہی کیا اور تمام مقامات پر ٹھہریں، جب پاک ہو گئیں تو بیت اللہ کا طواف اور صفا و مروہ کی سعی کی، پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اب تم اپنے حج اور عمرہ دونوں سے حلال ہو گئیں۔ عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میرے دل میں ابھی بھی یہ بات کھٹکتی ہے کہ میں حج کے وقت بیت اللہ کا طواف (قدوم) نہ کر سکی۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: عبدالرحمٰن! انہیں لے جاؤ اور تنعیم سے عمرہ کرا لاؤ۔ یہ حصبہ کی رات کا واقعہ تھا۔
